Surrey Canoeists Raise £4,000 for Mini Bus

Godalming Round Table accumulated in excess of £4,000 for the Wharf Nursery Schools minibus by canoeing all the way to central London. They began the ordeal by rowing of at 9.30 Friday morning on 1st October. 12 members arrived 3 days later at Festival Hall, travelling a total of 47 miles.
The rowers trained with assistance from the Godalming Scouts and the Go Godalming Canoe Club to take on the perils of the River Thames.
They are using the mini bus purchased from the charitable effort to take children from the town centre to Green Oak Primary School in Franklyn Road,
where the children's centre is temporarily operating from.
