Surrey Road Safety on the Rise

Surrey County Council revealed today that according to new figures the number of people seriously injured or killed on Surrey roads has fallen.
Surrey County Council and Surrey Police statistics show that road deaths dropped from 41 in 2009 to 32 in 2010 and serious injuries dropping to 488 from 530 in 2009. This makes and overall 9% reduction in Surrey road related fatalities.
The
Surrey Drive SMART campaign was launches 18 months ago in September 2009, with the help of county council road safety experts along with police officers and fire fighters aiming to tackle anti-social driving in Surrey to reduce road casualties and make the county's roads safer for everyone.
