Our Favourite Surrey School Trips

The Surrey Schools return back this September and while that might disappoint children, we know what will cheer them up, their school trips. Below are some of our favourites:

One of the best attractions for school trips in Surrey is Hampton Court. The Palace has recently been renovated and contains a lot of history on the Tudors, due to it being one of King Henry VIII's favourites. So for schools studying Tudor history or just English History, Hampton Court would be a good place to visit.

For an active school trip this year, travel down to Sayers Croft. Offering Rock climbing, Orienteering and Pond Dipping this is ideal for children who love the outdoors and challenges. If your more interested in an active day out (rather than staying overnight at Sayers Croft) then how about a day trip to Painshill Park. Painshill offers Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 trips. Some of these include Habitat Surveys, Geography challenges and becoming History Detectives.

With climate change and the environment becoming very prominent Surrey and East Surrey Water have begun an Educational programme to visit Sutton and East Surrey Water. So schools can learn about how Surrey water is purified and reused.

With a combination of both environment and history, Gatton Park has a lot to offer this school year. With Sensory Walks, Woodland safari's and a history of Brown and Gatton Hall, schools may find this an exciting option for school trips.

For a trip back in time this school year, schools may wish to visit The Spike Heritage Centre. Imagining the year is 1906 and you've come across the Guildford Union Workhouse's newest building. The Spike Heritage centre aims to educate visitors and give them a taste of what it would have been like for workhouse visitors over 100 years ago.
