This Saturday 20 June 2009 marks to 500th anniversary of the coronation of England's best known King, Henry VIII.
To mark this significant date, King Henry and his Queen of the day, will be sailing from the Tower of London at 10am aboard the Royal Shallop 'Jubilant'. Accompanied by a flotilla of traditional boats, they will make the journey along the Thames via Richmond to Hampton Court Palace in Surrey, located between Kingston and Walton-on-Thames.
The voyage is expected to take around 5 hours, with crowds encouraged to gather and cheer them along the route from the river banks.
Arrival at Hampton Court Palace is expected around 3pm, and there will be entertainment all day at the Palace culminating with a fireworks display at 9.45pm. Paying visitors during the day will be allowed entrance to the evening too, or you can just come along for the evening for £5.00.

Great day! with the crowds you could kid yourself it was real royalty. Saw the flotilla arrive at Teddington Lock, then pass under Kingston Bridge. Quite impressed with the guys and girls standing up rowing.
Huge crowds at Hampton Court saw Henry and first wife mingle with his lowly subjects then sit down for a right royal supper.
