Charity Of The Year 2009

Charity Of The Year 2009

In 2009 we have been working with charities each month to promote their events in Surrey.

We've chosen six of these charities as nominees for
Surrey-Online.CO.UK's Charity Of The Year Award.
As criteria for selection, we looked at each charity who had used or been featured on Surrey-Online.CO.UK this year, and their own efforts in reaching out to the public using Surrey-Online.CO.UK, their direct communication with us and their use of our services to promote their cause.

We were very happy to see that charities these days are much more aware of their online presence, and this is why we decided to reward the most proactive charities this year.

in alphabetical order

- ‘Cherry Trees’ & ‘Home-Start’ for Swim For Children
- ETHIOPIAID for Fame! At Woking
- Leukaemia Research for Farnham 5k Forget-Me-Not Walk
- Mines Advisory Group(MAG) for British Military Fitness
- NSPCC for The Great British Duck Race
- The Sealed Knot for English Civil War Re-enactment

The winning charity will receive £1,000 worth of promotion for one of their 2010 events in Surrey. This includes full Surrey-Online.CO.UK coverage with banner campaign and branding of our news section to promote the event.

But the final decision will come from you, our users. We're going to monitor votes on our voting poll and post counts on our message board. So get voting for your favourite charity!

But remember, it's not just about votes! We're also going to check what's being said about each nominated charity across the entire forum. So get involved in a discussion that mentions your favourite charity, post some photos of a recent charity event, or start a new topic about one of our nominated charities and we'll take that as a hint that you support them or are one of the team members and care about your charity, so this is what you need to do:

Taking Part

Good luck to all the nominees {Smile} (be aware we can easily spot spam)!

are these the only charities which approached your portal in 2009?

Some charities may have approached us with a local event in 2009. While others may have been featured in one of our articles or simply mentioned somewhere on our website over the past year. The associated event or article can be found listed next to the nominee name.

Remember, voting closes at the end of December!
