A JEEP Cherokee and Aston Martin taken from drug dealer Sean Lynch are set to go on tour this week around Surrey. Lynch was jailed in August 2008 for 18 months, accumulating over £1 million worth of assets that he could not of funded without dealing. To make an example of this haulage, Surrey Police are taking two of his 'pimped' rides to different towns across Surrey to tell would-be drug barons: they will lose all that they gain.
I believe the threat of losing possessions won't be a big deterrent, as they are only easily acquired through drug dealing in the first instance. The Police should use the cars as way of gaining attention for the event, then sell prison as a deterrent.
The schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, September 28 - St Johns Estate, Walton (afternoon)
Wednesday, September 29 - Outside Primark, Camberley town centre (9-10am); Old Dean Estate, Camberley (10.15-11.15am); Heatherside shops (11.30am-12.30pm)
Thursday, September 30 - Redhill town centre (2.15-4pm)
