Olympics in Surrey

Even though there has been speculation for some time time now, it was finally announced this week that the cycling route for the Olympics in 2012 will be travelling throughout Surrey.

The cycle route will starts off at The Mall then through Westminster and down through Bushy Park to Hampton Court where it enters Surrey.

The race will pass through Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, West Byfleet and Wes Horsley just to name a few.

The competitors will also loop around Box Hill several times (9 times in mens race, 2 times in womens race).

This is one of the few free to watch events in the Olympic games, so be sure to get camp out for the good spots along the course!

You can download a copy of the race route here (PDF)
