The Surrey Business Club (SBC) February meeting was postponed thanks to the snow, and finally took place two weeks late at the University of Surrey, Guildford. It proved well worth the wait, with eight new members joining in response to the evening’s amazing special offers from Webskills and SBC. There was even a champagne prize draw to celebrate!

Networking and referrals
Upwards of 35 members and guests attended, and everybody joined in the new-style 45-minute structured networking and referrals session at 7pm. The usual sumptuous buffet was attacked with gusto, before Deryck Svensson of Webskills UK unveiled their new website, and a spectacular offer to SBC Members.

Surrey Online – free offer!
The new Surrey Online website (www.surrey-online.co.uk) is a re-launch of Webskills’ established (and heavily visited) site at the same URL, in a totally new format. The key difference is that the site content will now be posted by its users, in true ‘Web 2.0’ style.

Non-profit organisations will have free web space, and all business and community users can post events and join in discussion forums. Businesses can have a free basic entry, or buy an enhanced listing. The fully featured Business Builder Max package allows users to post their own content, pictures, special offers etc whenever they want to. It’s being launched at £199 per year (shortly rising to £249) but all current SBC Members will be given a free Business Builder Max listing until the end of 2009.
