Wheelie bins finally arrive in Surrey Heath

Wheelie bins finally arrive in Surrey Heath

Thousands of wheelie bins have been appearing on front drives and streets across Surrey Heath.

Since last week the borough council has been rolling out the bins in preparation for the refuse new collection scheme being launched next month. People have been receiving two wheelie bins as well as a food bin and food caddy for their kitchens.

Residents in Mytchett, Deepcut and Windlesham have already had their bins delivered while people in Frimley Green and Chobham were getting theirs this week. Frimley, Camberley, Bisley and West End will be next in line to receive their new refuse hardware with the Old Dean, Bagshot and Lightwater getting their bins at the end of the month.

The impending refuse system has been met with mixed reactions over the past few months. Some people have hailed the new system as a necessary step to a greener future for the borough while others think the bins will be an unsightly addition to their front gardens. However, concerns have also been expressed about how elderly people will cope with the clunky new wheelie bins, and also that they will clog up narrow streets. Fears have also been raised that the new bins will be a magnet for drunken antics and vandalism.

At a meeting of Surrey Heath’s full council on Wednesday, council leader Moira Gibson said: “We have now had them in Windlesham and I am very impressed with them. Some people do not want the bins because they have problems with storage but I would like to congratulate the waste team for going the extra mile to discuss issues with them and what can be done.”

Guess people where they were made and why they were so late?
- They are produced in Germany.
- German company had more important jobs to do for their own government and this is why they delay all jobs for UK.
Question – Why the hell we can not make wheelie bins in this country – to advanced technology?
