You've heard all the jokes about elderly drivers being bad behind the wheel, but last Saturday was something else.
An 80 year old man took a wrong turning up the footpath by the Lower Green Road railway bridge onto the London bound Esher Station platform at 16:15 GMT, where his car became stuck.
He was arrested for dangerous driving, and his car was reversed off the platform, then towed away. Nobody was injured, luckily.
There has always been debate whether people of mature age should be forced to retake their driving tests at a certain age, 70 for example. Some say OAP's slower reactions and errors of judgement can cause accidents. The fact is, younger people are far more likely to cause accidents than the older generation.
The next time your late for your Sunday roast due to being stuck behind a Mini Metro, at least you know the car in front is on the road.
Should old people have to retake their driving tests? Have your say.
